Butler will be a a key contributor to this years Lincoln High team since they are returning a 6 seniors playing alongside Bryce Sloan 6’3 point guard and Addy Phillips 6’5 post.
As a freshman Rasheed swung up on varsity for the first playoff game. Ever since then he’s been on varsity making his way from off the 6th man his sophomore year to being a starter his junior and senior year. Averaging 15 points 3 assists 3 rebounds a game his junior year and becoming one of the most underrated guards in high school basketball. We asked Rasheed’s intake on being underrated. He said “It’s frustrating. I know what I’m capable of and what it takes but is not being known going to stop me? No. Let them sleep, me and my team worked and will make noice this upcoming season.”
This summer Rasheed played on the Salem Hoop 17u b team joining late. But was able to reach his full potential and play both Point Guard and Shooting Guard spots.But was able to play against Kyle Greenly and Jaden Neilsen in practice and was able to go head to head with 2 top guards in the state of Oregon. Rasheed was later invited to Howard University camp and ended up playing really well and showed off his skills against top talents gaining interest from Carroll College in Helena Montana, Howard University in Washington DC and CSI. Butler really showed off his skills and talents making him certainly a college prospect. Keep a lookout for 2017-2018 high school season as Lincoln strives to prove the people who keep sleeping.
