Prospect Spotlight: Chris Robinson (2019)
One of the top teams in the state the last few years for the class of 2019 has been Team Teague 2019. They have some obvious top talent but littered throughout the team are tons of solid prospects to watch over the next year. One such player is Indianapolis Pike (IN) wing Chris Robinson.
Robinson, a 6’3 well-built prospect, has a ton of upside. He’s a little bit of tweener right now as he’s skilled but built more like an outside linebacker. He has ball handling ability and can create well enough to create some offense for himself.
Long term projection is still a bit up in the air but he’s obviously skilled enough with his frame to draw in some early college interest. So far, IUPUI and Toledo have been showing interest in the Pike High prospect. His range of outcomes is still vast as he could fit in for a lot of high-end NAIA and DII programs as well as the low-major schools.
The next year of development will be key as he looks to find out where he will end up. Chris said he is working on his jumpshot this Fall as the next stage of his development. That is big as he’s more adept now as a drive and slash wing with more scoring ability near the rim than away. If he can get to where he is spreading the floor more, that would really boost his stock.
This season for Indianapolis Pike, look for Chris to give them a different element on their roster. Pike is built well with guards but Robinson should give them a big enough body to use in many different way, especially on the defensive end of the court. He should help Pike to having a really solid season as they look to meet up with State Champion Ben Davis in Sectionals, yet again.
