A look at KC (Mo.) college commitments (Part II)
Three additional players in the 2018 class in the Kansas City area have committed since we last reported fall commitments.
Yor Anei, 6’10, PF/C, 2018, Lee’s Summit West
The big man has seen his stock rise late in the summer and early in the fall and committed to play at Oklahoma State Thursday night. He is an athletic rim protector with terrific size and length. He runs the floor well, finishes around the bucket and has a lot of potential as a defender in the college game.
Mason Taylor, 6’4, PG, 2018, Grandview
Taylor is among the most underrated guards in the Kansas City area, a long, athletic player who has good size, athleticism and poise. He can handle the point guard duties but is also a skilled enough scorer to play off the ball as well. He plays with a high basketball IQ and has plays under control. Taylor committed to Air Force on Oct. 22 via Twitter in what could be one of the steals of the recruiting scene in Kansas City.
Jalen Lewis, 5’10, PG, 2018, Liberty
Lewis is among the premier shooters in high school basketball in the Midwest, but is much more than just that. He has elite quickness, takes care of the ball as a sure-handed point guard and can create his own shot off the bounce. He not only has range and the ability to knock down shots consistently, but has an extremely quick trigger, especially off the bounce. He recently committed to play at Division II Washburn over several other offers.
