Conference Preview: Suburban Blue 4-6
Below are the predictions for the bottom half of the Suburban Blue Conference.
With basketball right around the corner, let’s break down some players and predictions on the tough Suburban Blue Conference. We will list the teams in the projected order below.
4) We will be taking Belton in the 4th position. Belton lost a few solid players last year in Keith and Lind, but they still had a solid team around them. Senior guard T.J. Brown should be one of big time players and scorers on the team. Look for him and his backcourt partner Antione Nunn (Junior) to take over the leadership roles. Don’t forget about Senior Jaden Clark(Pictured) though. Clark standing at 6’2” has solid size and is very athletic. He will also be a big factor not only on the offensive side, but the defensive side as well.
5) Platte County finishing 5th last year, and we have them in the same spot this year. Depending on how Platte County meshes as a team, they could move up a few spots in the conference. They will have their best player from a year ago in Deiondre Ragsdale returning for his senior season. He will get some help in the backcourt from Kobe Cummings who should be a solid contributor. Look for JP Post and Ethan Esdohr to also help. Seniors Jonathon Watts and Lucas Stanley are the two guys who should lead the frontcourt. Size will be a weakness, but they hope to even it out with their speed.
6) Rounding out the 6 teams and finishing on bottom is Winnetonka. Winnetonka will have a hard time making a move in this tough conference. Tonka won’t be lacking in size with Bol Tong standing at 6’7″. He should be able to score decently down low and grab some big rebounds. Helping him out in the post will be big man Andrew Hendrick. Senior wing Der-Raun Brown should be able to use his size and get a lot of clean looks. Racine Williams III should also help his team in scoring with his smooth stroke. Tonka really struggled last year, but I expect them to grab some big conference wins and pull off a few upsets this season.
