2016-2017 Record: 31-3
How did last year’s team finish compared to expectations? We set out to win Conference, Conference Championship, Regionals and State Championship. We have high expectations each year and last year we reached all four of our goals.
Overall Team Outlook
Expectations: We bring back our top 9 players, all 5 starters, from a 31-3 team. Each year we expect to be best team in the state so we work hard in the offseason to ensure that happens. We expect to be there again but we also know how difficult it is to be and stay on top. But we are ready to defend our State Championship.
Areas of concern: Sometimes a team can relax when you accomplish your goals early. I don’t see that happening with this group but I’ve seen it happen to a lot of teams. Again, we aren’t very tall which could hurt us in the playoffs against bigger teams.
Best-case scenario: Best case is we repeat conference champions and as State Champions again. I think we have the skill set so it will be interesting to see how things line up. We play such a tough non conference schedule that I think by the time we hit conference and playoffs we should be tested and ready.
