Recruiting Report: Logan Heim (2019)
Six-foot-9, 275 pound Logan Heim is that rare sizeable athlete that his teams have had the luxury of using. Heim is from Dell Rapids and he played his 16u year with the Schoolers.
“My top highlights this 16u season had to be winning the Summer Slam tournament, playing for the Dakota Schoolers, and just competing against some of the best competition around here,” Logan said.
Logan returns to a Dell Rapids line-up that will include shooter Carson Rentz, wing Mason Schmidt, four man Jeffrey Schuch, and others. Expectations are high for the team and Logan is working to try and help his team meet this expectations.
“When it comes to hoops I would like to improve on my post scoring and getting into better shape so I get have a larger effect in games,” Logan said. “And with athletics overall I would like to improve on my work ethic just a little bit more.
“We as a team have a lot of potential. I think as long as we can play as a team and build on the chemistry we created this summer, we have a two-year starter coming back and two others that got big minutes last season.”
College programs have began calling Logan about his future in athletics.
“I have heard from schools,” Logan stated. “Minnesota State-Moorhead, Augustana, Dakota Wesleyan, and USF but they all pretty much said like I’m a prospect and just said stuff about their programs.”
Logan is a big but he’s always admired an athlete at a different position.
“I have always admired Kobe Bryant because of the way he played. He was always going all out and having a passion for the game I’ve never seen from anyone before and I don’t know, I’ve always wanted to be like him,” Logan said with a laugh.
Heim is currently in the middle of a football season where his Dell Rapids team is 4-1 and despite being by far the biggest man on his team, Logan plays tight end because he is a skilled weapon.
