Recruiting Report: Ben Bohl (2019)
Six-foot-2 guard Ben Bohl of Bishop Ryan was an all state level player for the 24-4 Lions a year ago. Now a junior expectations are high for Ben and Bishop Ryan.
“I think we will be very strong and competitive this year,” Ben explained. “We did lose our coach but our goal as a team is to get back to the state tournament and make a run in the tournament.”
Ben spent his summer playing at the 17u level with the North Dakota Cougars. It was a valued experience.
“I thought the highlight was being able to play against competitive competition and playing a different and more physical style of play,” Ben told PHD. “I feel like playing this way taught me how to be able to alter my playing in games. 17u was very competitive.”
How is Ben preparing for the season and working to improve?
“Being able to be more consistent shooting the three and being a more physical player,” Ben said.
Area scholarship schools have started calling Ben about his college basketball future.
“Minot State and U of Mary have contacted me through text and call,” Ben stated.
The Beavers have a player that Bohl has been watching closely for a long period of time.
“Tyler Rudolph from Minot State has influenced by I think not because of the position he is but how hard he works at it to be the best player he can be,” Bohl stated.
“My favorite hooper is probably Luke Kennard probably because he can stroke. Larry Bird is another favorite.”
