Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo: Top 2018 Guards
Here is a look at the top Class of 2018 guards from last weekend’s Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo in St. Louis.
Brendon Hardy 6’3″ Farmington: One of the top players at the event, Hardy showcased his scoring ability from all over the floor. He has excellent 3-point range, but he also can put the ball on the floor and attack the basket and get buckets. He has good size and plays well with the ball and without the ball on offense.
Hayden Sprenkel 6’2″ North County: As usual, Hayden was one of the top 3-point shooters in the event, which is never a surprise. He has deep range and the confidence to let it fly at any time. He is very good off the catch and can really stretch the defense out. He has also improved his ball handling and moves off the dribble.
Levi Woods 5’10” Puxico: A tough little combo guard who is very aggressive on the offensive end. He has the ability to score off the dribble with strong drives to the basket to go along with good 3-point shooting range. He also displayed good passing ability.
Daniel Portell 6’0″ Festus: A very solid all-around guard who had a productive day at the expo. He has good fundamentals and a strong basketball IQ to go along with his ability to pass, handle and shoot the ball from distance.
Jihad Thornton 5’7″ Hazelwood West: A small guard who plays the game with good quickness and pace. He handles the ball well and can shoot the ball from 3-point range. He also displayed the ability to create space for jumpers off the dribble. A solid basketball IQ.
