Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo: Top 2018 Forwards
Here is a look at some of the top Class of 2018 forwards from last weekend’s Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo in St. Louis.
Michael Wright 6’7″ Proviso East (IL): One of the most impressive players at the camp, Wright displayed dominance at both ends of the court. He showcased his athleticism and a nice skill set from the perimeter and the low post. He handled the ball well and made a number of perimeter jumpers. I also liked how under control he always seemed to be at all times.
A.J. Sommer 6’5″ Parkway South: A solid all-around forward who showcased his versatility throughout the day. He scored around the basket, but went outside and handled the ball and made plays for his teammates as a facilitator. He shot the ball well and grabbed his share of rebounds.
Mark Simmons 6’4″ Francis Howell: A versatile combo forward who showed that he could be a matchup problem with his variety of skills. He was very comfortable with the ball with his ability to dribble, pass and make plays on the drive. He is strong with the ball and being a lefty also adds to his effectiveness.
Kamron Lenoir 6’7 Timberland: An excellent athlete who was the best shot blocker at the expo, bar none. His combination of length, athleticism and good timing enabled him to throw a day-long block party during the games. His offensive game is still a work in progress, but he did show some flashes around the basket.
Jack Gieseking 6’7″ Parkway West: A big, strong post player who competes with a high motor on both ends. He is a physical player who did a lot of good things offensively in the low post with his scoring and rebounding.
