Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo: Class of 2019 Point/Combo Guards
Here is a look at the top Class of 2019 point/combo guards who were at last weekend’s Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo in St. Louis.
Damien Loyd 5’10” Kirkwood: A good pass-first point guard with excellent quickness and the ability to get all of his teammates involved. He is good at dribble penetration and finding the open man, whether it’s an open shooter or a post player under the basket. He is also a knock down 3-point shooter who will keep defenses honest.
CE Talton 6’3″ Monroe City: A very talented combo guard with good size and the skill to play every position on the perimeter. He is a smooth ball handler who can pass the ball and get to the basket off the dribble. He also has a nice stop and pop jumper from the mid-range area.
Trent Champagne 6’2″ St. Charles West: A talented guard with excellent size who excels at the point. He has the ability to get to his spots on the floor. He is one of the best I’ve seen at knocking down the mid-range jumper, where he can stop on the dime and get good elevation on the shot.
Mekai Ray 5’7″ McCluer North: A super-quick point guard who caused all kinds of problems to opposing defenders with his ability to get in the lane and make plays. He showcased the ability to score at the rim and knock down 3-pointers. He was also a very good facilitator as he dropped several dimes.
Easton Null 6’0″ Jefferson: An excellent perimeter shooter who showcased his playmaking skills throughout the day. He handled the ball and delivered a lot of nice dimes, including some good-looking no-look passes. He’s a potent weapon from 3-point distance off the catch.
Richard Bratcher 5’9″ Alton: A quick, penetrating guard who did a nice job of moving his feet on the defensive end. He made his share of 3-pointers while displaying the ability to get in the lane to create offense.
