PHI Top250: Eric’s Top 2021 Performers
The Prep Hoops Indiana Top250 is now complete and we have already begun to take a look back at the players and plays from the event. Today, we are looking at my top performers from the event for each class of talent. Up now, the class of 2021.
Zane Burke – 6’2 SG – Churbusco (IN)
Burke has been with us for the last two weeks and we have seen more and more what he can do. He’s a capable shooter and has the handles to create on the perimeter. If and when he can get his shot off, he’s going to produce. Good frame with room to grow and be a sizable wing player.
Ethan Elkins – 6’5 PF – Evansville Memorial (IN)
Elkins is a tall forward with good mobility and some fairly solid instincts for a big man. Going to have to continue to develop the ball handling, which has a ways to go, but he sees the ball well off the rim, has mobility, and can score faced up in the mid-range. Stuff to love here with plenty of time to develop.
Gus Etchison – 5’11 PG – Hamilton Heights (IN)
Gus might have been my favorite player to watch this session. He’s so, so tough and really talented with tons of flair. Had a couple plays where he used a fake behind-the-back pass for a layup. He’s one of the better ball handlers we have seen at this stage and he’s likely going to grow a bit.
Cole Richmond – 6’0 PG – DeKalb (IN)
Cole is a solid guard with a great build and a chance to be a knock down shooter with time. Has great elevation and release on his jumper and uses it plenty now. Frame is strong but could still grow. Built more as an off guard and game fits there too. Could be best player from DeKalb in a few years.
Lincoln Hale – 6’2 SG – Linton-Stockton (IN)
Hale has grown on me since last week. We watched some film and have seen him live twice. He’s not the most athletic guy but he moves pretty well. Jumper is still developing but form and everything looks good. He’s always ending up involved in plays whether that is the shot, assist, or screen. Smart player with tons of room to grow.
