UMSL Elite Camp (Top Forwards)
Prep Hoops Missouri was in attendance at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Elite Camp on Wednesday morning. Here is a look at some of the top forwards from the camp:
Pete Lake 6’7″ Jackson (“18): The rangy combo forward was very impressive during the day as he showcased his athleticism and versatile skill set. In the championship game, he knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and threw down three slam dunks in transition. He handles the ball well and attacks the basket in an aggressive manner.
Leon Perry 6’7″ Confluence Academy (’18): After a very productive July, Leon was very good at the camp with his activity around the basket. He is an excellent offensive rebounder who finishes well in traffic and is not afraid to dunk at almost every opportunity. He also ran the court in transition.
Zach Harding 6’6″ Christian-O’Fallon (’18): The long and lanky combo forward is a very skilled player with excellent 3-point range. He provides matchup problems with his size, perimeter shooting combined with his ability to go inside and score in the paint.
Tyler Joest 6’8″ Breese Central, IL (’18): The walking and playing definition of a Stretch 4; a long and tall athletic frontcourt player who can really open the court with his long range shooting. He is a very good pick-and-pop player. He will also get out and run in the transition game and throw down a nice dunk on the break.
Blake Weiss 6’6″ Mascoutah, IL (’18): A very athletic combo forward who was very impressive when attacking the basket on the drive and finishing at the rim from a variety of angles. He is strong and he handles the ball well and he plays with a fearless streak that I really like.
Cameron Hester 6’7″ Jackson (’18): Cameron was very good around the basket as he played his normal very effective low post game. He was one of the few players that really enjoys the physical bump and grind of battling for post position and getting buckets in the paint. He never gets tired of the action inside.
