KC JULY STOCK RISERS: Wings (2018)
Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at some KC area wing players who raised their stock during the July evaluation period.
Michael Engelbert, 6’5, F/G, Park Hill (Mo.) KC Premiere
Didn’t get a lot of varsity run a year ago for a deep and talented Park Hill squad, but watch Engelbert in the lay-up line and you see his potential — he is a high-rising athlete with the ability to play above the rim. His athleticism and emerging skill set will likely lead to an opportunity to play somewhere at the next level.
Christian Bishop, 6’7, SF, 2018, Lee’s Summit West (Mo.) Team Rush
Recently committed to Creighton, Bishop has tons of upside. He is a left hander with a smooth, but still developing 3-point stroke and is at his best roaming the baseline where he throws down thunderous dunks.
Tyreese Davis, 6’6, SF, 2018, Kansas City (Mo.) KC Run GMC
Davis will be attending Link Year Prep after spending last season at Life Prep in Wichita but is a Kansas City native and played previously at Grandview High School. He is an athletic wing player who can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket and is a strong rebounder for a small forward. He led KC Run GMC in scoring for a well-balanced squad averaging 11.5 points per game during Under Armour circuit play. He shot nearly 50 percent from the field and chipped in 5.1 rebounds per game as well. He added his first NCAA Division I offers from Eastern Illinois and Central Arkansas this summer as well.
