Recruiting Report: Kobe Clancy (2018)
Kobe Clancy – 6’3” | SG | All 4-Him 2018 – Bonds | Indianapolis Scecina
Kobe Clancy is a long, athletic guard who can take over games slashing to the basket and finishing at the rim. He played with All 4-Him 2018 – Bonds this spring and summer and is rounding out his high school career at Indianapolis Scecina where he is looking to take his team to state and make first team all-conference again.
“I want to improve coming off the dribble to a jumper instead of going to the basket.” Clancy can get into the lane and carve up a defense off the bounce in the half court and in transition. He excels as an athlete going to the basket with finesse and athleticism. His long wingspan allows him to finish creatively around the rim with both hands.
Kobe is also effective as a two-way player as he likes to get into passing lanes and create havoc as an on-ball defender. Clancy gets out in the open court and is a smart player when it comes to picking his spots to attack. He gets into the lane and finishes above the rim while also having a floater package to go along with it.
“My summer went great. I can help create shots for others. I’m good at taking my man off the dribble.” Clancy has a solid first step when being guarded one-on-one and gets to the defender’s hip when making moves.
Clancy is currently receiving interest from IPFW, Ohio Dominican University, Marian University, Trine University, Goshen College, the University of Saint Francis, and IUPUI. He has taken visits to IPFW, Trine University, and the University of Saint Francis.
As he heads into his senior year with a chip on his shoulder, Clancy is set up to be menace on the floor. Keep an eye on the rangy, effective prospect out of the Indianapolis area this season.
