Recruiting Report: Dillon Barrow (2018)
A strong, athletic, tough wing player – that is Sioux Fall Lincoln’s (LHS) Dillon Barrow.
The explosive 6’2”, left-handed athlete put together a solid summer as a follow up to his junior season. Already having shown the ability to drive the ball and finish at the rim, he has worked hard on his outside shooting consistency. Barrow believes he has gotten better but can still improve in this area.
As a member of the Pentagon 17U National team, he was able to showcase himself against some of the best players from around the country. Playing alongside some of the other top players in the state, Barrow explained his experience to competitive and fun.
“I planned on playing for The Pentagon in their second summer season. The summer schedule looked ridiculous and very competitive, which it was. It was amazing playing on the national circuit against teams 1,000 miles away from home.”
College coaches have taken notice of the two-sport athlete (who will run track this spring). University of Sioux Falls, Dakota State and Northwestern College (IA) are all on Barrow’s radar. As a good rebounding guard and an impressive athlete, we’re sure this will help him stay in the forefront of college coach’s thoughts. Although he has not received an offer yet, Barrow remains focused on the high school season upcoming.
“LHS Basketball is looking good. We will get to play lots of minutes at our natural positions, unlike last year where Diang (Gatluak) and I had to play the 4 and 5 spots a lot. The goal is to make it to the state tournament and win the state championship.”
A championship seems to be a common goal from the entire Sioux Falls Lincoln team. Should be an exciting season as a fan watching them battle lots of other teams with a similar goal.
