Recruiting Report: Curtis Jones (2018)
The Region is always one of the more under-the-radar areas even though it is heavily populated. Being outside of both the Chicago and Indianapolis areas, it comes in a weird spot but every year, there are tons of kids that find their way as seniors to go on and play in college.
This season, a team that should be making some noise is Andrean and they will be lead by senior guard Curtis Jones. Jones, a 6’1, was a guy that stuck out during the final weekend of the July Evaluation Periods playing with Indiana Dawgz 2018. He’s a tough guard with a lot of game and while not a tremendous scorer, he was able to play on the ball, off the ball, rebound, and defend. He has a lot of skill to work with and with his size and strength, he should be a guy that can be a good player at the next level.
Jones said he already has some college interest. No offers at this stage but schools like Bethel College, Illinois-Springfield, and Williams College have all shown interest since July. It is still in that stage of analysis for college programs but Jones could be a guy that finds an offer or two sooner rather than later. He’s still open at this point but will be looking into an accounting degree at whatever college goes after him. His academics are really high and coming from Andrean, he should be someone who can fit in at most schools academically.
