Recruiting Report: Carson Blair (2018)
Many prospects coming up as players in the 2018 class aren’t completely focused on just one sport. Many are within range of being recruitable prospects for multiple sports. One of those players is Southwood (IN) guard Carson Blair.
Blair, a 5’11 lead guard, is not only getting looks for basketball but also for football. He’s a big time player for Southwood on the gridiron but he’s still undecided about what he will do in college. For Football, he already has Hanover, Illinois Wesleyan, and Indiana State interest. On the basketball side, schools like Wabash, Indiana Tech, Huntington, IU-Kokomo, and Ancilla are showing interest.
Blair is drawing in colleges on the basketball side of things because of his toughness. He pushes thing with his aggressiveness and with a tough body that is hard to stop, you really don’t slow him down. He’s capable of stepping out and shooting and is fairly potent from there. He puts up points in bunches. He’s a guy that plays bigger than he’s listed because of that toughness. He can be a physical rebounder and defender.
While he is still a ways from a decision on college, he is still going to have to figure out which sport. Carson says he would like to look into a few different degree options including Sports Management, Health Science, and Law Enforcement. Right now, he will get through one more season of football and basketball each before that point.
