Recruiting Report: Alex Gross (2018)
The class of 2018 is a thin one in terms of talent but some players are starting to emerge as potential deeper threats. Hauser’s Alex Gross is a guy that we have seen improve over the last year and is now a guy that will add some size to the list of availables.
The 6’8 post has really taken to his development and has added strength. He’s a little more fluid with his movement and has the ability to step out and shoot as well. That aspect has really made an impact on his game. However, he isn’t really a stretch forward but more of a guy who can shoot out to the arc.
His best skills are in the post where he has enough size and strength that, at the right level, could create mismatches consistently and be productive scoring with either hand. Best going to his right where he finishes at a high clip.
His recruiting is a bit all over the place as many have checked in including Bethel, Marian, Saint Francis, Findlay, Davenport, Cornerstone, and many others. The last two to check in are Grace College and Kentucky Wesleyan. Gross is still waiting on his first offer but the current level of interest will produce an offer sooner or later.
Gross says he will be looking at a possible degree in Sports Marketing or Business. He has the academics to really draw in some higher academic schools as well. It is still early for any level of prospect but Gross is racking up interest at a high rate.
