Prospect Watch: Kolton Vetter (2018)
Kolton Vetter is a 6-foot-1, 160 pound guard from Carrington that led his team to a 19-5 season as a junior.
Vetter loves to compete so he spent his spring and summer playing with the ECI Select squad that is always well coached and playing in good events.
“Over this last spring/summer season I became a lot more comfortable with ball pressure and starting an offensive flow,” Vetter said. “Also, on the defensive end I got a lot better putting on pressure and causing trouble for their point guards.”
For his senior year Kolton wants to be able to keep defenders on their heels by attacking in many ways.
“I’m working on my Off-hand ball handling and finding different ways to finish around the rim,” Kolton told PHD.
Putting on the black and gold of ECI means new challenges and Vetter’s top challenge was scoring over length.
“The biggest challenge of 17U was going up against guys that were a lot bigger and taller than me but I’ve learned how to go up against guys like that and still be able to finish,” Vetter said.
Carrington has high expectations for the up coming season and the goal is gold.
“Well we only lost one senior from last year who was a big part of our team,” Kolton explained. “But we have guys that got key minutes last year to get ready for this year so our team is looking really solid. For basketball my goal is to get the team to the state tournament. ”
Vetter knows what he wants to do after college but where he will go he doesn’t know and will he play college hoops?
“I’d really like to play college basketball if I get offered from a school that has the academic field I’m looking for,” Kolton said. “I’m going into Architectural engineering.”
