Prospect Watch: Jackson Reiff (2018)
Jackson Reiff of Sioux Falls Roosevelt may be one of the more underappreciated seniors in the state of South Dakota. The 6-foot-4 has talent.
PHD talked hoops with Jackson late last week and he’s a quieter guy that was strong with his points. Just like when we’ve seen him on the court.
State champion Tea Area was able to beat the Roughriders last December 31st but Reiff was able to find space to score in many ways. With the Attack this spring and summer Jackson scored on the move in many ways touching in shots and we loved his touch in the several viewings we had.
The Attack played in several quality events and it was a valuable experience for Jackson.
“I learned with the Attack that you just always got to put work in the gym and not be afraid to get better,” Jackson told PHD. “This fall I’m definitely working on my defense and ball handling.”
Roosevelt had a tough 2016-17 but plans are for things to change this winter.
“I think we have a good chance to be good this year with three returning seniors that played last year,” Reiff said. “Our goal this year is to win as much as possible.”
Jackson will play college basketball. At his size with a touch it will happen. But right now the focus for Jackson is to improve his team. Reiff is determined to help his squad improve. And then he will worry about college.
“I plan on seeing how the season goes and going off what happens next,” Jackson said. “I would hope to play college basketball but you never know what will happen.”
