Prospect Watch: Camden Bialas (2019)
Six-foot-7 Camden Bialas of Parker High finished his sophomore year as an all state Class B player and all-state tournament team member. What’s next?
First Bialas helped South Dakota Attack to a 22-5 record and earned all state 16u status as well.
“It was a great experience to play with and against some of the top players in the region,” Bialas said of his time with the Attack. “It was a lot of fun winning the Great Plains Alliance tournament against some tough competition.
“My AAU season got off to a slow start due to an ankle injury causing me to miss the first couple tournaments. When I came back, I feel like I became tougher in the low post as the season progressed.”
Camden is now healthy so he is spending his time working both in the weightroom and on the court.
“This fall, I’m really working on improving my physical strength,” Camden said. “That’s priority number one for me. I’m also working on my post moves to become a more dominant back-to-the-basket player.”
Parker went to state in Class B earning a 16-9 record. Much will be different this winter.
“There’s going to be a lot of change for us. First of all, this will be Parker’s first year as a class “A” school. On top of that, we have a new coach this season. We lost three starting seniors from last year, but we have a lot of players that can definitely step up and play ball. I think we can compete this season and make a good run in the playoffs
Knowing that Camden has skill, size, and agility leading into a lot of potential so local schools are calling early.
“So far, I’ve talked to a few coaches from local D2’s and NAIA’s and plan on visiting a few schools this fall,” Camden said.
Bialas is a natural hoops fan. He loves 90s bigs and enjoys one of the recent standouts from UNC>
“I love watching highlights of 90’s big men, especially Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson,” Camden said. “The way they can score at will in the post is something you don’t see as much in today’s NBA.
“My favorite player today is probably Justin Jackson. I’m a huge North Carolina fan, and I was lucky enough to meet him at the Des Moines tournament this spring.”
