Prospect Watch: Bradyn Rusher (2018)
Six-foot-2 wing Bradyn Rusher of Clark-Willow Lake is one of the first players PHD saw when Prep Hoops arrived on the scene in the winter of 2015. Rusher has grown a lot since those days.
As a junior of one of the more respected teams in Class A Bradyn had high expectations on and off the floor.
“I grew last year because I had to become a leader of the team,” Rusher told PHD this summer. “We had a very young team last year that went out every night and proved themselves and I was very proud to be apart of that.
“Leadership is a huge thing in CWL basketball. I learned to become one by people that taught me like Rory Forest, the Hartley Boys or Noah Huber. They showed me and my other teammates such as Jacob Prouty or Ntai Stevens the way to keep on the winning tradition.
“I think this will always help me in life because it’s help me be apart of something bigger than myself and be part of a team.”
Rusher was a key contributor in many ways on that team a year ago but he wants to be even better as a senior. What ways did he focus on this summer in high schoole events with his team and playing with the Sanford Pentagon?
“I hope my play on the defensive end improves, and I hope I can find a little more consistency in my shooting,” Rusher said.
Playing at the 17u level against some of the better teams in the Midwest Rusher learned something about himself.
“They have helped me learn to play the game at a faster pace, and also how to play against a different level of athletes,” Bradyn explained.
Rusher has spent the summer thinking about his senior year of athletics and hopes it leads to future opportunities.
“I haven’t looked at any of my options for college athletics yet I’ve been focused on my senior year of high school sports and hopefully that will help widen my collegiate opinions.”
