Missouri Baptist Elite Camp (Top Forwards)
Here is a look at some of the top forwards from this week’s Missouri Baptist Elite Camp in St. Louis.
Jason Montgomery 6’4″ Marquette (2019): A versatile combo forward who has been a very effective player in the paint, but is gradually improving his perimeter game to become more rounded offensive player. He is a solid scorer around the basket who crashes the offensive boards well. He has improved his ball handling and shooting as he can make plays outside the lane.
Tyler Joest 6’8″ Breese Central, IL (2018): An ideal Stretch 4 who can really shoot it from long distance with confidence and consistency. He does very well in a pick and pop. He is long and athletic and can really get up and down the court in transition. He can block shots and will throw down his share of blocks.
Jalan Bates 6’4″ Drive Branch, MS (2019): This young player from Mississippi was very impressive with his all-around game. He was athletic and did an excellent job with slashing drives to the basket and excellent finishes in traffic. He was a good offensive rebounder who can also knock down pull up jumpers.
Malachy Simpson 6’6″ Webster Groves (2019): A solid young big who enjoys the action on the perimeter with his ability to knock down 3-pointers. He can really shoot it well off the catch and from distance. He has good size and he has good ball handling ability.
Breon Mosby 6’5″ Cardinal Ritter (2018): A solid post player who is a blue collar worker around the basket. He does most of his damage in the paint as he scores on post ups and offensive rebounds. I really like his motor as he gives a strong effort every time he’s on the court.
