Missouri Baptist Elite Camp (Guards/Wings)
Prep Hoops Missouri was on hand to take in some of the action at the Missouri Baptist University Elite Camp in St. Louis. Here is look at some of the top guards at the Elite Camp.
Damien Loyd 5’10” Kirkwood (2019): A quick little point guard who did an excellent job making things happen with the dribble, the pass and the shot. His dribble penetration enabled him to get to the basket and either score on create open shots for his teammates. He also knocked down a number of 3-pointers.
Marco Powells 6’0″ Fort Zumwalt North (2018): A physical combo guard who was good at getting to the basket and scoring through contact. He also showcased a much improved shooting stroke from 3-point range, which should add to his offensive repertoire.
Mekai Ray 5’7″ McCluer North (2019): An ultra quick point guard who loves to play fast and push the tempo at every opportunity. He has very nice handles and dropped several nice dimes to teammates throughout the scrimmage play. He also has the ability to shoot from long range.
Ryan Torrey 5’11” Cardinal Ritter (2019): A talented young combo guard who showcased a lot of offensive ability. He has excellent 3-point range off the catch, plus he has good dribble moves to create separation to get off his jump shots. Ryan has grown several inches in the past year, which gives him more size.
Khalifa Muhammad 6’5″ Althoff (2019): A long rangy wing player who has excellent size and good athletic ability. He can knock down 3-pointers off the catch or attack the rim and throw down slam dunks in transition. He is a good ball handler who can also rebound well with his size.
Brady Wise 6’0″ Neosho (2018): A solid combo guard who has a crafty set of moves on the perimeter. He passes the ball well and he also has a nice set of moves off the dribble to create shots at many different angles. He does a good job of scoring with either hand.
