Jayhawk Summer Finale (Class of 2018 Shooting guards/Wings)
Here is a look at some of the top Missouri Class of 2018 shooting guards/wings from the recent Jayhawk Summer Finale in Overland Park, KS.
Monty Johal 6’3″ Yanders Law: The smooth lefty was one of the top scoring threats in the entire tournament. He was one of the best at creating shots off the dribble where he used his slick handles to give him the space to let fly with his feathery jumpers from the mid-range or 3-point distance. He is a big scorer without being a heavy volume shooter. He is also an excellent passer who will share the ball.
Mason Taylor 6’4″ KC Pacers Blue: An athletic shooting guard who really broke out with a series of big scoring games at the Jayhawk, including a 30-point performance against Oklahoma Run PwP in front of a throng of college coaches. His 3-point jumper was money throughout the tournament, plus he was excellent in transition and in the mid-range game. He has the look of a prototype two-guard who can really score.
Quinn Nelson 6’3″ MBA Flight: A young man with a very smooth stroke from 3-point range, but is also a talented overall scorer. He is an excellent shooter off the catch, but he is also very good at coming off screens and making 3-pointers off the dribble. If you crowd him, he will go by you and get to the basket and get buckets at the rim. He also moves well without the ball and reads screens well to get himself open.
Deng Bol 6’2″ Team Rush: A very unheralded guard that sometimes gets lost in the group of talented guards on the Team Rush roster. He was one of the best at getting to the basket with his nice handles, size and aggressive driving mentality. He is long and athletic and can cover a lot of space with each dribble. Even when defenders know he’s trying to get to the basket, he gets there anyway; and he can finish.
Max Titus 6’2″ KC Magic: A very solid shooting guard who was a valuable piece to the Magic team that was very good during July. He is an excellent 3-point shooter who could knock down long distance shots on the catch and in transition. He could really space the court. He also scored on some daring drives to the basket and he proved to be a solid defender who gave a strong effort.
