Class of 2019 Posts
Here is a look at the top Class of 2019 post players in the state of Missouri:
Roman Wilson 6’10” Park Hill: He picked up a ton of experience playing up at the 17U level this summer with MoKan Elite in the Nike EYBL. He provided excellent shot blocking and rebounding with his size and length. He can score in the paint, but he is also a skilled big who can handle the ball and make perimeter jumpers. Has early offers from Wichita State and Kansas State.
Josh Wallace 6’5″ CBC: A high activity player who enjoyed a very productive summer with Brad Beal Elite. He was a tireless worker around the basket as he scored, rebounded and blocked his share of shots. He was also impressive on the break as he scored on many rim runs. He recently picked up his first Division I offer from SIU-Edwardsville.
Michael Peake 6’6″ Northeast: A strong athlete who plays with a high motor. He had a very productive summer with MoKan Elite 16U playing against EYBL level competition. He is a very competitive rebounder who will also challenge shots when opposing teams come into the paint.
Trey Jenkins 6’6″ Sikeston: A young, athletic big who really excels as a shot blocker with his excellent timing around the basket. He has also improved as an offensive player as he can get buckets on the weak side and run the court to convert in the transition game.
Nick Zeil 6’7″ Park Hill: A solid post player who is strong and plays very good position basketball. He is very good at the high post where he can knock down the jumper and make pinpoint passes to open teammates. He finished well around the basket with his left hand.
Trenton Smith 6’5″ Carl Junction: An impressive young post player who had a dominant weekend at the Prep Hoops Show Me Showdown in late May. He displayed strong post moves and a nice shooting touch around the basket. He also finished around the basket with thunderous dunks. Has started to received Division II offers.
Moses Opkala 6’7″ Ladue: An imposing figure at 250 pounds with the physical strength to match. He is still a work in progress, but he started to show some development in his offensive game with some solid post moves and good passing. He is an excellent rebounder who can control the defensive glass.
Tre Morrison 6’7″ Parkview: A solid young post player who really excels on the defensive end. His is a very good shot blocker with his athleticism and good timing.
Erik Lahm 6’10” Lindbergh: A much improved young big who has excellent length, which he puts to good use as a shot blocker. He was much better offensively during the summer as he attacked the basket with more aggression and scored through the contact. Should be ready for a big junior season at Lindbergh.
Cole Laurence 6’7″ Farmington: A talented post player with a good set of offensive moves in the paint. He has good footwork and has the ability to finish with both hands. He also does a good job of the offensive boards.
