Class of 2019 Combo Forwards
Here is a look at the top Class of 2019 combo forwards in the state:
Tyem Freeman 6’5″ Hillcrest: One of the most explosive players in the Midwest region, Freeman wowed folks with his earth-shattering dunking ability during his summer with MoKan Elite. He has also developed into an overall skilled force on the offensive end. He is expected to lead Hillcrest back to the list on contending teams in Class 4 in 2018.
Darrius Hughes 6’5″ Rockhurst: A versatile big-bodied forward who has the size and strength of a power forward, but the skill level to get some things done on the perimeter. He is a tremendous finisher around the basket with good moves and powerful dunks. He is capable of putting the ball on the floor and making a move against opposing bigs.
Dylan Ridgnal 6’5″ Rockhurst: A strong athletic forward with a blue-collar type of game that produces good results. He excels as a rebounder in which he can get out of his area to corral boards. He is very mobile around the basket and he can step out and knock down high post jumpers on a consistent basis.
Dominique Hardimon 6’3″ Poplar Bluff: An undersized warrior who outplays bigger players on a consistent basis with his strength and high motor. He puts in a ton a work around the basket as a scorer and rebounder. He averaged 18 points and eight rebounds a sophomore for a team that played for a district championship.
Quenton Brown 6’6″ Rock Bridge: A much improved performer who is very explosive around the basket. He runs the court in transition and loves to dunk in traffic. He started to show his ability to put it on the floor against opposing bigs to get to the basket.
Trent McBride 6’6″ Eminence: A very skilled lefty who is one of the top players in Class 1. He has an excellent touch around the basket and can step out and knock down perimeter jumpers. He returns to lead a strong nucleus at Eminence, which advanced to the state quarterfinals in 2017.
Cyrus Alexander 6’4″ Whitfield: An explosive athlete who can really operate along the baseline as a scorer and weak side offensive rebounder. He plays the game hard and battles bigger opponents with his high motor. He is a good shot blocker in addition to his rebounding prowess.
Jason Montgomery 6’4″ Marquette: A blue-collar combo forward who is a very productive player with his high motor and excellent set of fundamentals. He can score around the basket, pass the ball and rebound well on the offensive end. He started to expand his perimeter game during the summer.
