Recruiting Report: July Live Periods
Michael Roberson attended the Prep Hoops Indiana Senior Showcase and continued to impress [https://prephoops.com/2017/07/prep-hoops-indiana-senior-showcase-tonys-standout-shooting-guards/]. He had a stellar season last year averaging 28.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.9 steals, and 1.7 assists per game at Central Christian Academy in Indianapolis. That kind of production has started to create some buzz around Roberson. He also averaged 20.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per game as a sophomore.
Roberson is a lanky guard who sees the floor like a point guard but has the scoring abilities of a shooting guard. He is a dynamic player in the backcourt with his core skill set. Michael has the ability to knock it down consistently from deep while also breaking defenders down off the dribble to get easy finishes at the basket.
He is creative around the basket with his finishes. Can finish around the basket with either hand and has a nice floater game inside the lane. He makes getting to his spots look effortless with his quick first step. Deceptively quick guard who runs the floor well and has great court awareness.
“I’ve been working on my ball handling, passing, and decision making.”
Roberson also brings an edge to the defensive end of the floor. He’s tough, strong, and wants to compete every possession. Great on-ball defender who knows how to jump passing lanes and get easy steals off the ball.
Michael currently holds an offer from the College of the Ozarks in Missouri. He’s currently receiving interest from a list of Division II programs.
He’s looking to become a dentist in the future when his basketball career is over. Performs well in the classroom and plays at an elite level between the lines.
“I’m looking for a program where I can come in and actually get to play and also have a good relationship with all the coaches and players.”
Keep Michael Roberson on the radar throughout the month of July as he proves he can play at a high level with the SYF Players on the Powerade Platform. Poised for another outstanding high school season with Central Christian Academy as he looks to play ball at the next level.
