Recruiting Report: DJ Dial (2019)

The strong play of DJ Dial (2019), 5’9”, PG, Brush High during recent days at AAU competitions has piqued the interest of coaches at the Division I level.
Dial, according to his coach Chet Mason, is an exceptional ball handler and reliable shooter and the college coaches getting to view him up close are seeing just that.
Dial, who is playing for C2K Elite at the UAA (Under Armour Association) in Atlanta, scored 6 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished off four assists in his team’s loss.
Undersized at 5-9, Dial is a scrappy defender who can hold his own at that end of the court, according to Mason.
Youngstown State and Cleveland State have already made offers to Dial, according to his coach. Dial doesn't appear to lack confidence. As a freshman, he told prephoops.com that he wanted to finish as his school’s all-time leader in assists and points.
Dial is coming off back-to-back all conference seasons in which he averaged 15 points a game and approximately 3 assists a game, a number which Mason said will have to improve as Dial’s career progresses.
Andre Harris (2019), a 6’3” G, who is Dial’s high school teammate and an outstanding defensive guard, picked up and offer from Canisius on July 13 after coaches from that school watched him play in an AAU tournament.
Speaking of Ohio recruits, Christian Guess (2018), 6’3” G, continues to impress. Guess scored 18 points to lead his team, Ohio Basketball Club AKA OBC, to a win in its opening game of the Adidas Uprising U17 in Spartanburg, SC. Dwayne Cohill (2018), 6’1”, Holy Name, a teammate of Guess’s on OBC, scored 13 in the win.
In the team’s second game, a 92-75 loss to Brookwood Elite, Cohill scored 22 and Guess 11. Cohill said in a phone interview that his team was tired in its second game loss. Cohill, a top 100 prospect, has cut his list of schools to 10. That list includes Ohio State, West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.
