Hoosier Shootout: 15U Top Performers
The final weekend of AAU is complete and we are going to take a quick look back at some of the top players we saw in the last week. Today, we look at the top 2020’s we saw at the Hoosier Shootout in Indianapolis.
Vincent Pich – 6’1 SG – 2020 – Beech Grove (IN) – IE Side Orange 2020
Matt Jones – 6’6 C – 2020 – Lafayette Jeff (IN) – Indiana Elite Central 2020
Eli Keiser – 6’6 SF – 2020 – Rossville (IN) – Indiana Elite Green 2020
Nick Williams – 6’5 C – 2020 – Daleville (IN) – Indiana Elite Magic 2020
Hunter Huffine – 6’0 SG – 2020 – Cathedral (IN) – Indiana Elite Northeast 2020
Breakdown: The 2020 class on paper doesn’t look too loaded but as usual, it is only starting to show it’s true depth. We found a number of new players in the class. However, the first player to talk about is Matt Jones. The 6’6 post player looked solid as he dominated with his strong post up game. Has good touch and is pretty mobile for his size. Once he pairs down a bit, he could become a lot more impactful.
As for the new faces, look at guys like Nick Williams and Eli Keiser for the size. Williams is a big, thick forward who moves really well and can even stretch the floor even though he is built for the low post. Keiser is a guy that is a stretch forward prospect and was able to knock down some shots in the games we watched. He’s got good size but thin and should be a guy to track.
The new guards worth watching are Vincent Pich and Hunter Huffine. Pich looked impressive at times playing for IE Side Orange. He’s a taller guard but the handles are pretty solid. If he can stay on the ball, his upside is going to be pretty high because he does have some offensive skills as well, good driver and finisher at the rim. Huffine is a good guard prospect with size and strength. Could be at either guard spot but showed good passing, vision, and handles already.
