Best of the Midwest: 2018 Stock Risers
Saturday, July 22nd | Grand Rapids, MI
Jarron Coleman – 6’5” | SG | Indy Heat 17U EYBL | Cathedral High School
Coleman was superb for the Indy Heat group. He became the primary ball handler for the group as Tyger was being face guarded. This gave Jarron the opportunity to show off his ball handling and passing abilities and he did. He initiated the offense for the team and on multiple occasions made some tough interior passes for dunks. Coleman also attacked the offensive glass with great success. He used his length on the defensive end to cause turnovers that lead to easy baskets in the open floor. A natural scoring guard showed his all-around game this weekend.

Jack Ammerman – 6’0” | PG | UAA 1Nation | Ann Arbor Skyline (MI)
Ammerman was the most consistent shooter in the gym on Saturday. There was a stretch of three straight possessions where he hit three consecutive threes. Two in the fast break and one off a drive-and-kick corner three. What was more impressive was his tenacious defense. He was causing turnover after turnover while getting out and running the break. Jack made some tough passes for easy baskets as 1Nation ran away with the game in a big win. He helped them to their 17U Platinum Championship win in a route of the Indy Heat team.

Caleb McConnell – 6’6” | PG | UAA Ohio C2K Elite | Dunbar High School (OH)
McConnell is an intriguing point guard prospect at 6’6”. He knocked down the long ball while also being extremely crafty around the rim with his finishing. His athleticism was on display in the full court as he pushed the ball with much success on Saturday. Caleb is a good finisher around the rim and rebounds the ball well from the position. He had the complete package that included lock down defense. One of the best point guard prospects at the event this past weekend in Grand Rapids.

Marlon Taylor – 6’6” | W/F | Indy Heat 2018 Red | South Bend Riley
Marlon Taylor was one of the more active players that caught some attention on Saturday. He was all over the floor on loose balls, grabbed a hand full of rebounds on both backboards, and shot the ball well from deep. His jumper has been a major area of improvement and it looked consistent on the pull up. Long, athletic wing who likes to get up and down the floor. Still better as a slasher in the half court but has been working on his ball handling ability. Prospect to keep an eye on with his athleticism and aggression on the floor.
