University of Central Missouri Team Camp (Class of 2020 Standouts)
Here are some of the top Class of 2020 standouts from last week’s University of Central Missouri Team Camp in Warrensburg, MO.
Quenton Shelton 5’10” Lebanon: Skilled and talented point guard who is the main scoring threat and facilitator for his team. He has deep shooting range and has the ability to create shots off the dribble. He also did a nice job of handling the ball against pressure defense to either get his team into their offense of just get to the rim for a basket. Shelton is a little bigger and stronger than when I saw him at this camp last year.
Jace Lance 5’10” Marshall: A nice young point guard who can play equally well with the ball in his hands or off the ball, where he can spot up and knock down 3-pointers. He does a good job of advancing the ball up court on the dribble or with the pass. He has a good feel for the game, which you would expect from a coach’s son. Very poised.
Steffan Black 5’11” Blue Springs: A quick guard who operates well in the Wildcats’ fast-paced game, which featured pressure defense from the opening tip-off to the final buzzer. He plays with excellent pace as he can go coast to coast on the dribble, or he can stop on the dime and knock down a pull up 15 footer. Like his potential.
Trey Kempker 6’3″ Eugene: A very athletic wing player who mixes his skills well with his group of teammates who are 3-point shooters. He has good size and explosiveness, which he uses well in transition as he threw down several impressive slam dunks. He is strong and he has the ability to slash to the basket and finish at the rim.
Jordan Lewis 6’3″ Lebanon: A blue-collar performer who brings his hard hat and lunch pail to the court every time. He is a bit undersized, but he makes up for it with his high motor and physical strength around the basket. He battles for every rebound that he can get his hands on. He will not cheat you in the effort department.
