Recruiting Report: Zach Heins (2018)
Six-foot-6 220 pound Zach Heins has been a key part of the early season success of the Pentagon National Team and he’s a top football prospect.
Zach is a tight end on the football field and a power forward on the basketball team. His football team won the state tournament with an undefeated record while the basketball Warriors had a tough finish but Heins grew as a player.
“I was able to mature and learn how to handle adversity throughout the season,” Zach told PHD about his year.
“I will always remember the time I spent with some of my best friends on and off the court.”
Heins is an outstanding worker on the basketball court as a consistent rebounder, finisher at the rim, and he moves his feet well and is great in position so his aggressive play is very tough to score on.
As good as Zach is with the Pentagon National Team (who was in Colorado this week for the USA Basketball Team Trials as a scrimmage opponent) and with the Warriors, he has football scholarship offers to pick from.
“I was extremely excited to receive offers from South Dakota State and University of South Dakota,” Zach said. “I think they’re both great places.”
Both offers came this February plus Zach is hearing from other programs as well.
