Recruiting Report: Noah Jewett (2018)
Five-foot-10 guard Noah Jewett gave Tri Valley quality minutes this winter during their run to the state tournament and doing the same for Pentagon Regional.
Tri-Valley went 18-8 this winter and Jewett found his role with the team during their state run.
“I feel like I grew as player, in my play making and driving and finishing at the hoop,” Jewett said. “Because I didn’t really shoot the ball well from outside.
“Well, when you’re not shooting the ball well you have to take it to the hoop and not settle. Because if you just keep shooting and missing then you’re just going to keep losing confidence.”
Noah wants to shoot better this summer and into next winter, among other things. “I want to improve my ball handing, shooting, and playmaking.”
Jewett is in the middle of a season with Pentagon Regional where they are 5-6 after three events.
“The level of competition is high every game,” Noah said. “You have to be ready to play when you step on the court.
“Playing at this level has challenged me to slow my game down and be patient, and not to force things and play smarter. At that level players are faster and longer.
“Also you need to reduce turnovers because opponents will make you pay for them at this level.”
Noah’s goal is to play college basketball and at this point three schools are calling.
“I plan to play at the next level. Dakota Wesleyan, Dakota State University, and I guess you could Southwest Minnesota State is in the mix.”
Before Noah starts thinking about college he has goals he wants to accomplish.
“My goal is to just develop as a shooter and a ball handler. Also to make my teammates better.”
