Recruiting Report: Logan Kruse (2018)
Logan Kruse – 6’3” | G | Dekalb | Class of 2018
Logan Kruse is looking ahead to the month of July and his final season of high school basketball. Logan plays his AAU with Team Focus 2018 and attends Dekalb High School where he has been a four-year varsity player.
“I’ve actually been out for two and a half weeks with a bone bruise on my knee but the doctor should clear me next Friday for July AAU.”
Kruse has been taking the month of June to heal and get back into basketball shape. He had to miss the one team shootout that Dekalb attended but has been a part of their workouts with his attendance.
Logan will be stepping into his senior year as the focal point for opponent’s scouting reports. He will see many different defenders this season that are out there to slow him down.
With that in mind, he knows he has to prepare now to be successful in season. “I’ve been working on shooting off the move because I know a lot of teams will key on me this year and I will be required to knock down shots coming off screens.”
Logan’s jump shot has been one of his most improved skills over the past few years. He has also shown improvement making moves off the dribble and finishing at the basket with both hands.
His versatility as a tall guard also makes him a tough matchup. When asked about his training plan for this summer, this is what he had to say, “my physical strength is probably most important.” He has consistently been getting stronger over the years both physically and mentally. He is a true student of the game and has shown that by making plays late in the game and in crucial moments when his team needs it.
When it comes to playing at the college level, it has always been a dream of his to do so.
“I’ve been on a visit to Saint Francis University and an open gym at Huntington University.” Logan has also been in contact with Indiana Wesleyan University, Goshen College, Taylor University, and a few other NAIA schools.
“I’m interested in a school that had good team chemistry and a coach that invests in his players. I like a family feel and want a school with a good business program.”
As Kruse looks to rebound from his injury, keep a close watch on what he does in July and into his senior season with Dekalb High School. He will be the leader of this Baron team and is doing what it takes to prepare for a solid year.
