Recruiting Report: Eddie White Bear (2018)
Eddie White Bear is a 5-foot-9 guard from Des Lacs-Burlington that helped his Laker team to an 18-7 year. White Bear played a big role.
“This winter as a player I got a lot better when it came to being smart and making the right decisions,” White Bear said. “That is one thing my coach made me do. He had me not dribbling as much and not making no-look passes.
“I usually rely on my instincts when I play but this past season I focused on making the right decisions and that’s is one thing I will remember for this upcoming season.”
Eddie’s focus is getting his team to 20 wins next year at the least. He wants to become a better all around player so that can happen.
“As of now I am working on my jumpshots,” Eddie explained. “I’m a point guard so it crucial that I have a fast and good jumpshot.”
Eddie is playing with the North Dakota Phenom Regional team that has played 15 games so far.
“This AAU season has had a lot of good competition and taller players,” said Eddie. “I have learned that I need to gain muscle and be able to finish against these taller players.”
Eddie has goals both for the future and for next season.
“Over the next 12 months I would like to be stronger physically and mentally,” White Bear said. “I would also improve my skills on the court in every aspect of the game.
“Yes I do plan to play college basketball! I am trying to go to Bismarck State College.”
