Lindenwood Team Camp Recap (Class of 2020 Standouts)
Here is a look at some of the top Class of 2020 standouts from last weekend’s Lindenwood University Team Camp in St. Charles, MO:
King Waller 6’2″ Mehlville: A muscular guard who can play all three perimeter positions. His size and strength give him a big advantage when he is trying to get to the basket. He’s just tough to stop. Too big. He finishes well and can make a nice floater as well. King makes enough 3-pointers to keep the defense honest. He is a strong rebounder who can also become a dominant defender. Also an excellent young football prospect.
Jaylen Boyd 5’10 Ladue: A quick southpaw point guard who plays with a lot of pace. He will become Ladue’s full time point guard and will probably have that role for the next three years. He advances the ball well up the court either with the pass or on the dribble. He is very good at getting to the basket and creating shots from different angles off the dribble.
Elijah Bishop 6’5″ Soldan: A solid post player with a big body and a good set of offensive moves in the paint. He’s not overly athletic, but he makes up for it by getting good position in the post and catching the ball strong and finishing around the basket. He is also a hard worker on the boards.
Cole Miller 6’5″ St. Mary’s: One of the young up and coming prospects at St. Mary’s whose opportunities will be limited as the Dragons are loaded with talented veterans. When called upon, he provides good size and versatility on the perimeter. He can really shoot it from 3-point range and moves well without the ball.
Corey Cushshnon 5’8″ STL College Prep: A relative unknown among the young guards in the area, Corey is a savvy point guard who has a high basketball IQ. He’s small with a stout frame, but he knows where he wants to go on the floor as he can turn the corner and get to the basket. He also has excellent court vision as he can make his teammates better.
Casey Jones 5’5″ Hazelwood West: A small fireplug point guard who plays the game with a lot of energy at both ends of the floor. His lack of size doesn’t not bother him as he fearlessly attacks the basket and gets in the lane at every opportunity. He can finish surprisingly well and he will find open teammates.
Evan Schneider 6’5″ Ladue: A hard working post player who doesn’t mind mixing up in the paint with older and stronger players. I like the aggression that he plays with, especially when he battles for rebounds. He gets good low post position and holds it well. He will become better offensively as he continues to gain physical strength.
