Breakdown: Finding productive rebounders in high school is always tough. It’s a skill that takes time to develop and so some of these guys are a bit of a project but good ones to have on your roster.
Some of the better rebounders early on are guards because they can track down the ball. Carmel’s Cole Jenkins is one of those guys. He has a toughness to him and he sees the floor pretty well to where he can go run them down. Cam Chadd is another of those guys too from Southmont (IN).
One of the best is Bloomington North (IN) wing Musa Jallow. He’s really athletic and agile and with his size, he can run down boards like a guard but also can bang in the post with true size.
While a bit of a project, Cambridge City (IN) center Garrett Pumphrey could be one to watch. The long, lanky post has decent hands but the length to go get rebounds short and long. He can play over the top which is highly useful.
Some other prospects to watch for are Caleb Brown and Michael Jerrell. Brown is a 6’6 forward that can play mismatch with his strength on the interior. Jerrell is a bigger, stronger forward who has shown spurts of how impactful he can be. Given more time to develop, Michael could be a late riser in this class.
