An athletic 6’2 2018 guard, Bell is coming off a strong junior season at Park Hill where he teamed with several of the top players in the Kansas City area.
He recently picked up his first two offers from Missouri State University and University of Missouri-Kansas City.
“I just good conversation with (assistant coach) Matt Sligh at Missouri State and same with coach (Kareem) Richardson at UMKC,” Bell said. “We talked about doing things right and the good direction both programs are headed.”
Bell said he was impressed with the facilities at Missouri State and said UMKC offers the opportunity to stay close to home.
“With Missouri State, their whole facility, I loved it,” Bell said. “And UMKC, just staying right here at home. I haven’t been on any visits there so I don’t really know the facility but just being at home is keeping my eyes open.”
Bell said he has enjoyed the opportunity to play for Victor Williams and Team Rush this spring and says he is focused on improving his defense throughout the grassroots circuit.
“(Team Rush) is a big family,” Bell said. “We all love each other. Look out for each other. Hold one another accountable and do things right. I love it.
“I feel I can guard anyone. And I want to show that I can. And just showing that I am affective in the half court. Just as much as transition.”
Bell has also talked with coaches from South Dakota, University of Nebraska Omaha, Tulsa, Southeast Missouri State, Cornell, Abilene Christian University and Central Missouri.
“Coach Vic and everyone told me it (the offers) would happen,” he said. “So I just kept working until it did. Now I just want more. And more. But it’s a truly amazing feeling.”
