Recruiting Report: Chol John (2018)
Versatile forward, Chol John has the potential to be one the most intriguing top 2018 prospects in South Dakota. This soon to be senior already has the 6’8 frame the next level is looking for, although he has a bit more up his sleeve.
“I think my game is something you wouldn’t expect from a guy my size, I can play inside and out,” John said. “I think my best ability is finishing at the rim and rebounding, but most people wouldn’t expect me to have a shot, but that’s one my biggest strengths.
John’s plans for the summer are to strengthen his perimeter game on defense and keep up his outside shot. While those are two of his specific goals, he also wants to become more athletic and more experienced. He will continue to play for the BBA Force for the remainder of the summer to work on achieving his mission.
The big man already knows that if he wants to reach his targets he has to aim high. “This past season I learned that things don’t come easy and that you got to put work in because basic skills aren’t good enough,” John said. “I can say that I learned how to work hard and push myself past my limits, and that’s due to my coaches holding me accountable.”
John believes that the summer competition will help him bring his game to the next level. The BBA Force schedule this AAU season he said is challenging, but fun for him at the same time.
The ambition in John is a good sign for college coaches because he is continuously looking to get better every day. John doesn’t have any visits lined up for the future just yet, but he is in the hunt.
