Prospect Spotlight: Logan Jenkins (2018)
Lee’s Summit North 2018 guard Logan Jenkins, one of the Kansas City area’s premier shooters, is off to a strong start this spring for KC Team Rush.
He is among the KC area’s most talented perimeter shooters who can shoot from deep as well as consistently knock down mid-range jumpers and pull-up jumpers off the dribble as is a solid defensive player.
He says he gained a lot of confidence in his own game over the past season competing for Liberty North as has seen his play carry over this spring onto the AAU circuit.
“I gained a lot of confidence in myself by just believing in what I can do and as a team we were very close with one another and played well together as a team,” Jenkins said. “We’ve (Team Rush) competed well as a team and played and beaten some very good teams. There’s been a lot of high major colleges in to watch us and I’m hoping that the number only increases as we play in the Adidas Gauntlet gold division in South Carolina and Las Vegas.”
Jenkins says his dad has had the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“He played in college and has always pushed me to do my best and become better and more developed in basketball for my whole life,” Jenkins said.
On the court, Jenkins says he enjoys watching the NBAs JJ Redick play for the LA Clippers.
“I admire the way he plays because not only can he shoot the ball lights out, he can shoot mid range jumpers and play phenomenal defense so I sort of apply what he does into my own game,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins doesn’t currently have any offers, but has drawn interest from a host of colleges, including Western Illinois University, Southwest Minnesota State, Nebraska Kearny and others.
