Prospect Spotlight: Kevaun Maull-Edwards (2018)
Hogan Prep 2018 guard Kevaun Maull-Edwards is putting together a strong spring for the KC Magic after helping the Rams take third in the Missouri Class 3 Final Four in March.
A 6-foot guard, Maull-Edwards averaged 6.0 and 3.0 rebounds for a Hogan Prep squad that was deep and talented. He brings a versatile skill set to the court with the ability to shoot, pass, get to the rim and defend.
“I expanded my game and turned it into more of a slasher but keep the shot in my back pocket in case the rim is over protected,” Maull-Edwards said.
This spring he has competed for the KC Magic who recently competed at the Jayhawk Invitational in Overland Park, Kan.
“So far this experience has been great, playing with a new team, different faces and a different environment, but it has treated me well,” Maull-Edwards said. “I expect to win some tournaments and get some exposure and see what it feels like to have looks.
“I look forward to playing with all my teammates as a team, they make my AAU experience fun and I love playing with every single one of them”
Maull-Edwards says his high school coach, coach (Julius) Jackson because he pushes me to the fullest and holds me to the highest of expectations because he knows the player I can be and what I can achieve,” Maull-Edwards said. “He also brings people in like Luke Cooper to work us out to make our ball handling more efficient.”
Maull-Edwards says he is a fan of UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball and hopes to implement some of his skills into his own game.
“He’s a versatile player and I want my game to be expanded like his and I try to pass the ball as well as does and get my team more involved so they can be threats as well,” Maull-Edwards said.
Maull-Edwards says he currently does not hold any college offers but looks forward to hearing from schools this spring.
