Grassroots Recap (May 2)
Several of the Missouri based grassroots teams enjoyed excellent showings at tournaments around the country during the second and final weekend of the April open evaluation period.
Here are some of the highlights:
*MoKan Elite 17U continued its outstanding play in the EYBL with four more victories is Session 2 in Indianapolis to run its overall record to 8-0. MoKan Elite is the defending Nike EYBL Peach Jam champions.
*KC Run GMC 16U had another perfect 4-0 record in the second session of the Under Armour Association in Indianapolis. KC Run GMC is now 8-0 during the grassroots season, building on last summer’s undefeated record in the UAA.
*The Ramey-Jets United 17U went 3-1 in the second session of the Adidas Gauntlet in Atlanta last weekend to qualify for the Adidas Gauntlet Finale in July. Ramey-Jets United is currently 6-2 in Gauntlet play.
*MoKan Elite 16U finished with a perfect 6-0 record at the Nike Midwest Takeover in Indianapolis, IN. With its undefeated weekend, MoKan was able to qualify for the Nike 16U Peach Jam in July.
*MO Team Carroll 17U got into the winner’s circle for the first time by winning the championship at the Nike Indy Live Tournament in Indianapolis, IN. Team Carroll finished with a 6-0 record over the weekend to take home the championship.
*Brad Beal Elite 17U finished with a 2-2 record in the second session of the Nike EYBL in Indianapolis to run its record to 5-3 in league play.
*KC Spurs Black 16U finished with an undefeated record at the Nike Midwest Takeover in Indianapolis, IN
*KC Run GMC had a strong second week in the Under Armour Association in Indianapolis. After a 1-3 first week in New York, Run GMC bounced back with a 3-1 weekend to run its record to 4-4.
*Team Rush 17U finished 2-2 in the second session of the Adidas Gauntlet Silver Division in Atlanta. Team Rush is now 6-3 after two weeks of play in the Gauntlet.
*Yanders Law 17U finished with a 3-2 record at the NY2LA Lone Star Invitational in Texas.
*KC Magic 17U finished with a 4-1 record and advanced to the Final Four of the Midwest Live Tournament in Omaha, NE.
*Brad Beal Elite 16U advanced to the Final Four of the Nike Midwest Takeover in Indianapolis, IN.
*Ramey-Jets 16U enjoyed a strong 3-1 performance in the second session of the Adidas Gauntlet to improve its record to 4-4.
*The St. Louis Warriors 15U won the championship at the KC Rising Stars Never Walk on Hardwood Tournament.
*The Jets-Ramey United 15U won the championship of the Springs Hoops Classic in Clarksville, TN while playing up in the 16U Division.
*Team Rush 15U advanced to the Final Four of the Midwest Live Tournament in Omaha, NE.
