Battle at the Lakes: Chanhassen Sharpshooters (Friday)
Mike Evens, 6’3 G/F (Minnesota Basketball Academy 17U)
A big-bodied wing with some decent height, he was red-hot to start in his team’s loss to Showtime Hoopers, and ended the game with 22 points.
Carson Rentz, 6′ SG (BBA Force 17U)
This South Dakota product had his fluid stroke going early and often in his team’s wire-to-wire win over Rip City. When it was said and done he had netted four triples, and was the unquestioned leader during the win.
Brady Hartman, 6’4 F (Rip City 17U)
A thick forward from Minnesota, Hartman is a set shooter only, but he showed a beautiful rotation on his 3-ball. When he missed, it wasn’t by much, and he did get one deep ball to drop late in the first half.
Jeremiah Khat, 6’3 G (Showtime Hoopers 17U)
He’s grown six inches since we saw him last, and was nearly unrecognizable tonight. His added height allows him to get off clean looks, and he canned two deep balls in a row when his team needed them most late in the second half of a win over Minnesota Basketball Academy.
DeSean Foy, 6’2 G (Showtime Hoopers 17U)
It was a terrific all-around game for this versatile Sioux City West guard. He connected on a very decent 41 percent from deep this past winter with the Wolverines and it showed in his team’s win over Minnesota Basketball Academy, when he canned four deep balls.
Lucas Duax, 6’3 PG (Tri-State Steam 17U)
One of the more skilled shooters we’ve come across in some time, the Dubuque, Hempstead point guard shoots precisely with a flick of the wrist. He gets clean looks with a quick release and shoots with great confidence, and rightfully so.
Jordan Johnston, 6′ SG (Minnesota Select 17U)
This MPLS Roosevelt junior was hitting his open looks early and often in his team’s loss to Tri-State Steam. It’s a good looking shot, and when he missed, we were surprised. He connected on three triples in the 61-51 loss.
