Nike EYBL: 5 Players To Watch
This weekend is a big one in Indianapolis for the AAU scene as Nike, Under Armour, and tons of other events will be in town for the second live period. With that, we are taking a look at some of the top players at each event. Here are 5 players to watch at Nike EYBL from Indiana.
Damezi Anderson – 6’6 | SF | 2018 | South Bend Riley (IN) | Meanstreets 2018
After last weekend, Anderson picked up offers from DePaul and UConn. If he can continue to shoot like he does then look for him to continue to pick up offers. He’s been a guy that needs more consistency but those worries have been hampered over the last year.
Andrew Welage – 6’4 | SF | 2020 | Greensburg (IN) | Spiece Indy Heat 2020
Welage is back and healthy now after a broken hand/wrist. He’s ridiculously skilled and has the pedigree to be a DI talent. This weekend will be his biggest competition of his career to this point. If he can have a good showing, that would go a long ways.
Isaiah Thompson – 5’11 | PG | 2019 | Zionsville (IN) | Spiece Indy Heat 2019
Thompson has been really good for his first couple years of high school but now he needs to take a step forward. This is his second season on the 16U EYBL circuit so he has some familiarity with it. Could be a big weekend as he comes back home.
Keion Brooks Jr. – 6’7 | SF | 2019 | Fort Wayne North (IN) | Spiece Indy Heat 2018
Brooks proved this past weekend that he can play with the best players in the country and did it in impressive fashion. He’s going to be a top player in the country and he’ll show everything again this weekend.
Gavin Bizeau – 6’10 | PF | 2018 | Plainfield (IN) | Spiece Indy Heat 2018
Bizeau is continuing to trend upward and he picked up a pair of offers this past weekend. The EYBL isn’t easy for forwards and size but he put up solid numbers and as long as he can show the shooting ability and handles at 6’10+, he will be alright.
