Circle City Shootout: Best Teams
This past weekend gave us a ton of really good games including Indiana Legends vs. Grand Park Select, Indiana Elite Metro vs. Pocket City 2019, and many others. With that, he showed us just how good some of these teams are. Time to let you know our three favorites from this past weekend.
17U: Indiana Legends 2018
This Indiana Legends team will be an interesting one. When they are playing at a high level, they are going to put up some points and be pretty solid defensively. Morristown (IN) guard Hayden Langkabel can put the ball in the basket and Cambridge City (IN) big man Garrett Pumphrey can really defend the rim. Add in guys like Jayden Edwards, Keegan Owen, and Garrett Silcott and you have even more offense to tap into. They were really good most of the weekend and will continue to provide fun performances all year long.
16U: Indiana Elite Metro 2019
Wasn’t too sure what this team was going to be like but we knew Center Grove (IN) guard Spencer Piercefield had really improved. We didn’t expect him to go off like he did. Not to mention, Justin Hensley shot the lights out of the ball. Then guys like Ross Welch and Nate Childress really were physical on the interior. They were one of the toughest teams we saw all weekend long and played with a ton of energy. If they are shooting like this all year long, they are going to absolutely blow some teams out.
15U: Grand Park Premier 2020-O’Connor
This Grand Park team is pretty fun to watch. They have Danville’s Sam Comer is one of the best scorers in the state for 2020 and he did nothing to dispel that this weekend. The rest of this team is really impressive as well. Center Grove (IN) post Gavin Dowling is an interesting player with big size but tons of mobility. Carson Burtron, Dillon Ware, and Justin DeGraaf are all big wings with skill and showed that they can put up points and rebound as well. This team might not have a ton of high-end players but they are fun to watch.
