Recruiting Report: Michael Jones (2018)
Woodbury’s Michael Jones is one of the hottest recruiting names in the state right now as his play has people thinking a big spring and summer is coming.
Jones is a 6-foot-4 junior for the Royals who are 19-7 this season. The Royals play White Bear Lake tomorrow night in their first section round game.
“We obviously have a tough section but one of our goals is and has been to win our section,” Jones told NHR.
4AAAA is maybe the most hard to figure section in Class AAAA. The Royals did not play Tartan or North St Paul this year but they did split games with CDH and Woodbury.
“We’ve played well fighting through adversity this year and I think it’s prepared me and the team for this time in the season,” Jones said.
Michael is scoring 25.7 points per game and could be one of the most confident and toughest minded shooters in this state. He’s improved in several ways including the two he pointed out.
“I think I’ve most improved my ball handling and creating my own shot this year,” Jones.
Michael has many, many schools talking. Anybody that recruits this area has talked about Michael. Jones is still modest in listing schools but he did say four that he’s heard from the most.
“Drake, Northern Iowa, Concordia-St. Paul, and St. Cloud State as of late,” Michael said.
