Postseason Stock Risers
We are now in the home stretch of the high school basketball season with the large schools holding their Final Four of the state tournament next weekend. Here are a few of some of the top stock risers during the postseason.
Cam Potts 6’1 Webster Groves (2017): The athletic wing player has enjoyed some dominant moments in helping the Statesmen to the Class 5 Final Four. He scored 24 points against Vianney in the district finals and 23 points against CBC in the quarterfinals. He is explosive and he doesn’t take a play off on the defensive end. He is also starting to make some perimeter shots. Has Division II offers from the likes of UMSL, Drury and Lincoln.
Joseph Reece 6’8″ Vashon (2018): The long Stretch 4 has done an excellent job in the past month. Reece has a nice skill set and he can really knock it down from 3-point range. He runs the court well and he is starting to use his size to score around the basket the Wolverines run to the Final four of the Class 4 state tournament. He has also garnered offers from Saint Louis, Duquesne and Kansas State. He is just starting to fulfill his vast potential.
Alex Herndon 6’1″ Raytown South (2017): The talented guard enjoyed an excellent year shooting the basketball in leading the Cardinals to the quarterfinals of the Class 4 tournament. Herndon was really good in big games with his perimeter shooting.
Jamarr Williams 6’6″ Northwest Academy (2018): The young power forward was a force in leading the Hornets to the Class 3 state championship. In two Final Four games, Williams averaged 25 points and 13 rebounds. His game is strictly meat and potatoes and he scores around the basket and rebounds. It’s simple, but it’s painfully effective because his effort is relentless.
Deng Ding 6’5″ North Kansas City (2017): Another high-motor player who was excellent around the basket in leading the Northmen to the Class 5 sectionals. His effort and high activity made for some excellent productivity around the basket. He showed good moves and a nice touch around the basket and he rebounds with passion.
