North Dakota Playoff Central: March 9
The Class A State Tournament is being played but Class B is also in full flow. Get updated with what’s going on now in North Dakota’s Class B playoff run.
The Big Stage. Devils Lake HS, Williston, and Minot State Dome. That’s’ Region 4, Region 6, and Region 8.
In Region 4 St. John tries to hold on to their undefeated record against 10-12 Dakota Prairie. Also in Region 4 Four Winds/Minnewaukan faces LEM and New Rockford-Sheyenne takes on North Star. It will be tough to match that day of games in one area.
Region 6 has Bishop Ryan, Des Lacs-Burlington, Rugby, and Our Redeemer all in action this evening in one place while Region 8 includes Kenmare, Parshall, and Stanley all in action. Who will move on? Who will get upset? That’s tonight.
Punching Tickets. Dickinson Trinity and Beulah are playing for state on Trinity’s home floor. Quite the advantage….TLMM vs Washburn is the game that nobody expected after both upset the favorites…Ellendale faces Carrington in Jamestown….Thompson faces HCV who is the only team to beat Four Winds this year…Oak Grove is back playing for state, they face Richland…
Huge Performance. If you want to detail a huge game start with Garrett Bickett of Carrington. His 24 points on four three-point makes pushed his team to a 53-52 win over Linton-HMB. Next up is Ellendale who beat Napoleon/GS 61-49 led by the 19 from Luke Wertz.
Upset City! Two days ago we talked about Shiloh Christian and Solen being on a collision for a third meeting, they just needed to get past their opponents for one more game. Shockingly, both were defeated on Tuesday. Washburn defeated Shiloh Christian 55-53 and Solen was defeated 48-43 by Turtle Lake-Mercer/McClusky. Washburn and TLMM will now play for state this week.
Region 7 Showdown. Beulah and Dickinson Trinity are ranked squads both playing great basketball. The match-ups of Shawn Stoltz, Noah Sickler, Lucas Jones, and others against Logan Miller, Derek Ferebee, Jacob Weigel, and Reece Hoherz should make for an incredible game. Miller is coming off a 26 point game beating Heart River.
