Class 2 Final Four: All Tournament Team
Oran displayed a great deal of toughness and persistence in winning the Class 2 state championship. They defeated Sacred Heart and Crane to bring the state title back to Southeast Missouri. Harrisburg defeated Sacred Heart to win the third-place trophy.
Here is our Class 2 Final Four All-Tournament Team:
Most Outstanding Player: Jacob Shoemaker 5’11” (Oran): The talented sophomore averaged 25 points at the Final Four to lead Oran to the state title. He scored 33 points in the state championship game against Crane of seven of nine shooting from the field and 16 of 19 from the free throw line. He also had 17 points and three rebounds in the semifinals against Sacred Heart.
The Next Five
Max Priggel 5’11” (Oran): The junior guard averaged 18 points and seven rebounds in the Final Four. Priggel had 19 points, eight rebounds and two assists in the state championship game against Crane. He also had 17 points, six rebounds and six assists in the semifinals victory over Sacred Heart.
Dalton Hayes 6’2″ (Crane): The 2017 guard had a big championship game performance against Oran has he scored 23 points, grabbed four rebounds and had three steals.
Trent Lyles 6’0″ (Sacred Heart): The 6’0″ 2018 point guard averaged 22 points a game in the Final Four. He had 21 points and five rebounds in the semifinals against Oran. He followed up with 23 points, four rebounds and four assists in the third-place game against Harrisburg.
Brendan Gray 6’0″ (Harrisburg): The 2017 guard averaged 18.5 points for the Bulldogs, who finished in third place. Gray had 24 points, five rebounds, three assists and make four 3-pointers in the semifinals against Crane. He added 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in the third-place game against Sacred Heart.
Cade Combs 6’4″ (Harrisburg): The 2018 guard came up with a big performance in the Bulldogs’ victory over Sacred Heart in the third-place game. Combs had 23 points, 12 rebounds and made four of five from 3-point range in the victory.
